Is Photography Art?

I think that what makes a photo art must be the work or time must show from it. I believe that a snapshot is just something you do in a moment. Art from a photograph must have time put into it. You must set up something or edit something to make it better. I think that to take a photograph, art it must include the thought about the subject, background, lighting, and all the techniques and camera functions. A photograph art must be made by the photographer. There are many differences between a good photograph and a way better one. These may include how grainy and how clear the photo comes out, or how dark or bright the picture comes off as. A photographer of art takes this all into consideration and improves their work.

I think that this photo is more of a snapshot because it isn’t thought out as much. It is more of a moment picture. I think that the building is very detailed and the ground is cool. I think that all the colors blend with each other. I think what could have made this better is the people in the background. I think that is they weren’t there it would be better.

I believe that this is art because it is thought out. The background makes the plant stand out. The orange makes the color blend together. I like the way that the close-up object is clear and the background is blurred then it is very thought out. I think that the photographer made this photo very good by knowing how to use the camera and its functions. Overall, I think that the photo is good.

I think that this is a good photo because it shows depth and thought in the photo. The photo is thoughts out with the colors. They all blend and mesh into one. I think that the photographer wanted to make the photo feel homier and like you were the one reading the book. The red flowers make it seem like they are the bookmarks to the book. Overall, I believe that this is a really good photo.

I think that this is a bad photo. It looks good but it is more of a moment shot, so it doesn’t show art. It is not thought out. I like the way that the rocks are very detailed and the water is bright. I think that what would have made this better was going at a different angle and viewpoint, to capture more of the water and the actions of the boys.

Communication in Photography

Overcoming a Mountain

I think that this image is trying to communicate that you can overcome the biggest mountains if you work together. If you have people that have your back, you can overcome the biggest challenges in life. I think that the photographer put this photo together to show the accomplishments that can be overcome by the greatest “mountains” and tame the biggest “animals”. The way that the people need help from the people above them shows that you may need role models to show you how to overcome something. I think that if you were to try and overcome this mountain yourself it would be way harder than with people.

Still Life Writing

The photo of the statue on Easter Island shows unity by having the blue sky and the green glass help control and tame the color of the statue. The variety of the photos is how far away the photographer has taken the photo and the way the shadows are from the sun. The viewpoint of this photo helps make the photo better because of the angle of the photographer. By taking the photo far away and not making the statue in the middle of the photo. I think that this photo is one of a kind because not one photographer will be able to make the same exact photo. This is because of the lighting and the angle will never be the same.

The photo of the black kettle shows unity by using the common colors of black and the colors of brown. The lights in the back help control the background. The steam from the kettle and the cup shows the variety of the photo. I think that this photo is very unique and one of a kind. I love the way that the viewpoint is. It is straight on with everything and makes the whole photo even out and look bigger. The white towel shows a contrast between the black kettle and the cup.

All of the orange colors in the photo show unity. Using all shades of oranges helps the photo stand out but also shows up as one unified photo. The oranges contrast with the black background to show variation. I tink that the viewpoint of the phot helps show the depth and texture of the orange. I really like how the oragne colors reflect off onto the table with the lighting. The jar of honey reflects the lighting and kind of shows a mirroring effect, which I think is very cool and makes the photo unique.
